3 Summer Hot Spots
-
It’s summer time and its HOTTT. Around this time of the year, no one wants to wait, so I’ll get right to the point. I’m going to give you guys some tips on great places to grab a quick bite and cool off during the hottest months in the hottest borough, BROOKLYN.
One food most American’s can’t get enough of are hamburgers. We all love them whether they’re plain or packed with toppings. If you just happen to be one of these Americans, then you’re gonna love this place! It’s called 67 Burger. Their burgers have a unique taste that will definitely have you coming back for more and they use the best utensils from all knives. Trust me, I’m living proof. Let me not forget their noteworthy fries that will have you eating until you’re stuffed. This wonderful place is located in at 67 Lafayette Avenue. After you finish having your mouth watering meal, browse around the area and see what else Ft. Greene has to offer.
My next suggestion is a place you all probably know about already, Haagen Dazs. Before you dismiss it and head out in the summer heat searching for a more exclusive ice cream experience, hear me out. Haagen Dazs has many locations around the city but I am speaking specifically about the one at 120 Montague St. It is located just 3 blocks away from the famous Promenade. It’s your average park with benches but there are amazing views of Manhattan that everyone loves. You can find tons of the expected ice cream and sorbet flavors but my hands down favorite is the lemon sorbet. I would HIGHLY recommend it and have yet to find a competitor. If you are more into ice cream, I would go with the Birthday cake or Cookies and cream. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.
Clearly, I had to save the best for last. This small store has become one of my favorite spots to go to in Brooklyn for the great taste, convenience and the generosity of its employees. I’m also a big fan of this store because they specialize in serving West Indian food (smiles). The one dish that I usually stick to is jerk chicken with barbecue sauce and hard dough bread on the side. This meal can work as a snack or dinner. Mckenzie’s Cafe is located at 361 Utica Ave. about 3 blocks fromt he 4 train. If you’re looking for the store you can’t miss it, just follow your nose…LITERALLY. They are always cooking jerk chicken on the grill outside and it smells ohhh soooo good! It’s open 24hrs, the food is great and they stuff your plate. I can’t think of a reason why you wouldn’t all be heading over there right now!
Once again thanks for reading my blog and I’m glad I had the opportunity share some of my favorite food locations with you. Be sure to check back soon! Who knows what I’ll talking about next. 🙂
